Matchmaker for Discord / Overwatch 2
Role Queue means rank alone isn't enough — a Discord LFG post needs to know you're a Diamond Tank specifically, not just Diamond, or you end up with five Damage players and no one on Support. The ladder also isn't what a lot of older LFG tools assume: Blizzard added an Emerald tier between Platinum and Diamond, making it 9 tiers instead of the 8 most people still picture, so matching on a stale ladder puts an Emerald player in the wrong bracket entirely.
Matchmaker pairs you with OW2 players at a comparable rank, using the same tier ladder the game itself uses:
Bronze-through-Champion (9 tiers, including Emerald), filtered by Tank, Damage, Support, or Flex.
