1. Create the server
- In Discord, click the + (Add a Server) button at the bottom of the server list.
- Choose Create My Own, then For a club or community.
- Name it so people searching for Valorant find it — for example "Valorant LFG" plus your region or language — and upload an icon.
- Open Server Settings → Enable Community. This unlocks Onboarding, a rules screen and announcement channels, which the next steps use.
2. Set up Valorant channels
Create a category for each group below. Voice channels get a user limit that matches a real Valorant party size, so lobbies don't overfill.
Start Here
| #rules | Rules and the post format: rank, mode, agent class, mic. |
| #announcements | Server news and event nights. |
LFG
| #competitive-lfg | Competitive stacks; list rank and preferred agent class. |
| #premier-teams | Recruiting for Premier teams that play together every week. |
| #unrated-chill | Unrated games for warm-ups and trying new agents. |
Community
| #lineups | Utility lineups and setups — great evergreen content for regulars. |
Voice
| Comp Stack | Five-player Competitive lobby. User limit: 5 |
| Unrated Duo | Two-player lobby for warm-ups. User limit: 2 |
| Premier Team | Five-player Premier team room. User limit: 5 |
3. Create rank and role roles
Create one role per Valorant rank tier (Server Settings → Roles). One role per tier is enough — per-division roles make the list too long to scan.
The bot matches Valorant on rank, not agents, but optional Duelist, Initiator, Controller and Sentinel roles help stacks avoid five instalock duelists.
Let members pick their own roles in Server Settings → Onboarding: add one question per role group so new members choose when they join. Onboarding needs at least 7 default channels, 5 of which @everyone can post in — the layout above covers that once you add a general chat channel or two.
4. Permissions and moderation
- Make #rules and #announcements read-only for
@everyone(deny Send Messages). - Turn on slowmode (30–60 seconds) in LFG channels so posts don't get buried.
- Open Server Settings → Safety Setup: set the verification level to at least Medium, and under AutoMod block spam, mention spam and harmful links.
- Create a Moderator role with Manage Messages and Timeout Members, and give it to a few trusted regulars.
Account selling and boosting offers are the spam to watch for in Valorant servers. Add AutoMod keyword rules for 'boost', 'selling acc' and similar phrases, and make it a rule that rank in LFG posts must be the player's own current rank.
5. Add Matchmaker so your server isn't empty
The hardest part of a new LFG server is that nobody is online to play with yet. Matchmaker fixes that: it connects your server to one shared queue with Valorant players from every other server using the bot.
- Add Matchmaker to your server — it's free.
- Members run
/joingameand pick Valorant, a mode and their rank. Supported modes: Competitive, Unrated, Premier. - When a match forms, every player gets a ready-check DM to accept or decline.
- Once everyone accepts, a private voice channel is created automatically for the lobby.
6. Grow your Valorant server
- Run a Premier team finder thread each week so teams can recruit a fifth.
- Ping agent-class roles when a stack is missing a controller or sentinel.
- Keep #lineups curated — pinned, organised by map, no chat.
- Celebrate rank-ups in a dedicated channel; it keeps people posting.
FAQ
Should Valorant rank roles include every division?
No. One role per tier — Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Ascendant, Immortal, Radiant — is enough to see who can queue together.
Do Valorant LFG servers need agent roles?
They're optional but useful. Duelist, Initiator, Controller and Sentinel roles make it easy to find the missing piece of a stack.
Does Matchmaker support Valorant Premier?
Yes. Competitive, Unrated and Premier are all supported, with rank-based matching for Competitive and Premier.
How big should Valorant voice channels be?
Five for Competitive and Premier stacks, smaller for duos and trios warming up in Unrated.
