Terms and Conditions

Welcome to lfgmatch.com Matchmaker (“Matchmaker”, “we”, “us” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Matchmaker Discord bot, the lfgmatch.com website, and any related services (together, the “Service”). By adding the bot to a Discord server, using any of its commands, or otherwise accessing the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by Discord’s Terms of Service in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Matchmaker is a free Discord bot that helps players find teammates for supported competitive games through rank-based queues, language filters, ready-check direct messages, and automatically created temporary voice channels. Features, supported games, and parameters may change, be added, or be discontinued at any time without notice.

3. Discord Terms

The Service runs on top of Discord’s platform. Your use of Discord, including interactions with the bot, is also governed by Discord’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You are responsible for complying with those terms in addition to ours.

4. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
• Harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse other users or community members.
• Submit false rank, region, or identity information to manipulate matchmaking.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or otherwise abuse the bot or its APIs.
• Use automated scripts, self-bots, or tools to interact with the Service outside of its intended use.
• Exploit bugs, race conditions, or vulnerabilities instead of reporting them in good faith.
• Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited advertising.
• Impersonate another user, moderator, or staff member.
• Circumvent queue limits, temporary bans, cooldowns, or any other technical restriction.

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Service for any user or Discord server that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit through the Service (such as queue parameters, messages, or profile data). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content as required to operate the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you submit and represent that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.

6. Privacy and Data Handling

To operate matchmaking, we process a limited amount of data, including:

• Your Discord user ID, username, and the server (guild) IDs where you interact with the bot.
• Queue parameters you submit (game, mode, rank, language, role preferences, and similar options).
• Action logs (queue joins, match accepts/declines, vote redemptions) used for anti-abuse, rate limiting, and reliability.
• Approximate, coarse-grained visitor data on lfgmatch.com (such as country-level IP location) for aggregate site analytics.
• Temporary voice channel metadata required to create, manage, and clean up lobbies.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except where strictly required to operate the Service (for example, Discord itself, and top.gg when you choose to use the vote integration). Data is retained only as long as needed to provide the Service or comply with legal obligations, and you can request deletion of your bot-related data by contacting us through the support channels listed in Section 17.

7. Steam Key Giveaways and Rewards

From time to time we distribute free Steam keys or other rewards through commands such as /givesteamkey and through top.gg vote integrations. Giveaways are provided on an “as available” basis, are subject to stock, and may be ended, modified, or region-restricted at any time. Keys are not redeemable for cash, have no monetary value, and are void where prohibited by law. We reserve the right to disqualify any participant we reasonably believe has attempted to abuse a giveaway.

8. Third-Party Services and Trademarks

The Service may interact with or reference third-party services, including Discord, Steam, top.gg, and game publishers. All game names, logos, rank names, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Matchmaker is an independent fan-made tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the game publishers or platforms whose titles are supported.

9. Intellectual Property

The Matchmaker name, lfgmatch.com branding, website, source code, and associated design elements are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by an open-source license that clearly applies.

10. Availability and Changes

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of matchmaking results, uptime, or the behavior of other users matched through the Service.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Matchmaker, its operators, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed ten (10) US dollars.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Matchmaker and its operators from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your user content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your Discord server and ceasing to interact with it. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if continued provision of the Service to you would create a legal or operational risk for us or other users.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may be announced through our Discord support server or bot status message. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable consumer-protection and intellectual-property laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be handled on an individual basis; class actions and class arbitrations are not permitted to the extent allowed by law.
