1. Create the server
- In Discord, click the + (Add a Server) button at the bottom of the server list.
- Choose Create My Own, then For a club or community.
- Name it so people searching for Free Fire find it — for example "Free Fire LFG" plus your region or language — and upload an icon.
- Open Server Settings → Enable Community. This unlocks Onboarding, a rules screen and announcement channels, which the next steps use.
2. Set up Free Fire channels
Create a category for each group below. Voice channels get a user limit that matches a real Free Fire party size, so lobbies don't overfill.
Start Here
| #rules | Rules and post format: mode, rank, region, mic. |
| #announcements | Events, tournaments and server news. |
LFG
| #br-ranked | Battle Royale Ranked squads. |
| #clash-squad | Clash Squad Ranked teams. |
Community
| #booyah | Wins and highlight clips. |
Voice
| Squad | Four-player squad lobby. User limit: 4 |
| Duo | Two-player duo lobby. User limit: 2 |
3. Create rank and role roles
Create one role per Free Fire rank tier (Server Settings → Roles). One role per tier is enough — per-division roles make the list too long to scan.
Add region or language roles — Free Fire communities are often split by country, and voice works far better in a shared language.
Let members pick their own roles in Server Settings → Onboarding: add one question per role group so new members choose when they join. Onboarding needs at least 7 default channels, 5 of which @everyone can post in — the layout above covers that once you add a general chat channel or two.
4. Permissions and moderation
- Make #rules and #announcements read-only for
@everyone(deny Send Messages). - Turn on slowmode (30–60 seconds) in LFG channels so posts don't get buried.
- Open Server Settings → Safety Setup: set the verification level to at least Medium, and under AutoMod block spam, mention spam and harmful links.
- Create a Moderator role with Manage Messages and Timeout Members, and give it to a few trusted regulars.
Diamond top-up and free-diamond scams are everywhere in Free Fire communities. Block those phrases and unknown links with AutoMod, and add a pinned warning that staff will never ask for account logins.
5. Add Matchmaker so your server isn't empty
The hardest part of a new LFG server is that nobody is online to play with yet. Matchmaker fixes that: it connects your server to one shared queue with Free Fire players from every other server using the bot.
- Add Matchmaker to your server — it's free.
- Members run
/joingameand pick Garena Free Fire, a mode and their rank. Supported modes: Battle Royale Ranked, Clash Squad Ranked. - When a match forms, every player gets a ready-check DM to accept or decline.
- Once everyone accepts, a private voice channel is created automatically for the lobby.
6. Grow your Free Fire server
- Keep channel names short — most members read them on a small phone screen.
- Run guild-vs-guild Clash Squad nights.
- Post a pinned list of language or region voice channels.
- Reward helpful members with a visible role.
FAQ
What Free Fire rank roles should a Discord server use?
One role per tier from Bronze to Grandmaster, matching the ladder Matchmaker uses for ranked queues.
Does Matchmaker check Free Fire honor score?
Yes. Ranked queues require a minimum honor score — 90 for Battle Royale and 95 for Clash Squad.
Should Free Fire Battle Royale and Clash Squad have separate channels?
Yes. They're different modes with different team sizes and pacing, so separate channels keep posts clear.
How do I make a Free Fire Discord easy to use on mobile?
Keep channel names short, use few categories, and put the LFG channels at the top of the list.
